Acupuncture and Rotator Cuff Injuries

Rotator Cuff

Rotator Cuff injuries are one of the most common types of shoulder injuries in sports such as baseball, swimming, tennis and bowling; sports where you forcefully abduct or rotate you arm. Rotator cuff injuries also commonly occur in older people in cases where there is weakness of the muscles and tendons from lack of sufficient blood circulation and resultant ischemic changes in soft tissue.

Acupuncture for Quitting Cigarrettes

Acupuncture can be a very useful therapy in the effort to quit smoking successfully. Acupuncture’s effectiveness is in its ability to cut down the nicotine withdrawal symptoms and to promote more rapid detoxification while at the same time, relaxing the nervous system and relieving stress and anxiety. Please see my full article on acupuncture to quit smoking here:

May Day Protests

It’s unfortunate to see the discontent brewing amongst many of America’s “99%” today. Protests turned violent in Oakland, Washington and other places. In a way it seems strange to me that people are still pushing so hard to try and make the world a fair place, to get their share. I understand the motive behind trying to change the world, but I question the effectiveness of the means in many of these cases. Anybody who takes any sort of look at the history of the world would realize that it has never been fair. The only peace of mind to be found in this world is and has always been not really of this world at all. To go within; to look at the nature of one’s own reality and existence; this is what bestows real and lasting peace for an individual and really begins to change one’s circumstances permanently. To try and change the world is noble. All I’m saying is that you can’t have internal peace while you’re still trying to fight the world.

Spring

It’s nice to see the weather improving here in Eugene, Oregon. People are out and about, walking, bicycling, eliptigoing and didgeridooing. The flowers and weeds are growing like mad and my landscaping list of to do’s is rapidly growing. When the weather breaks here everyone’s moods seem to improve. The smiles increase and people become a little more outgoing. It’s a good time of year and I look forward to digging out some shorts.

Welcome

Welcome to my new website. It will be under construction for a bit so bear with me. When all is said and done it will probably be a bit of a personal blog, a bit of a business blog and generally just a good place to catch me for a chat or an email (I’m not much of a facebooker).
